                        2022 SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED
Only two families submitted scholarship applications this year, due to a variety of adverse reasons.  St. Anastasia students receiving scholarships include Tyler Bell (St. Joseph Academy), and Darcy and Natalie Schoonover (Cathedral Parish School).  To remain compliant with the terms of the Fr. Seamus Scholarship fund that scholarships must go the parish students attending either CPS or SJA, the remaining balance in the amount approved by the committee ($5250) has been forwarded to St. Anastasia to be used in the parish St. Thomas Aquinas Scholarship Fund.  In its 13th year, the Fr. Seamus Scholarship Fund has awarded $57,500 to students of Cathedral Parish School and St. Joseph Academy.

On June 29, 2020, Council 7121 received a letter announcing that the Father Seamus O’Flynn Scholarship Fund was the recipient of a bequest from the estate of Wayne and Donna Colvin.  Donna passed away Nov. 4, 2018 at age 91, followed by Wayne on Dec. 27, 2019 at age 81.  Wayne joined the Knights of Columbus on March 9, 2000 in Nevada, but was not active in Council 7121.

The amount of the donation is staggering - $20,000.

In the 12 year history of the Fr. Seamus Scholarship Fund, the fund has raised a total of $50,500.00, and this single contribution is equivalent to at least five years of that effort.  All Brother Knights should show this degree of charity, either in their life or afterwards.
